Hussain Sajwani is an Emirati billionaire who has built a successful career through real estate. Sajwani is the founder and chairman of DAMAC Properties, one of the worlds biggest property development companies based in Dubai. Sajwani has lead the company to number one on Forbes list of the fastest growing global companies. Through DAMAC and his many real estate ventures, Sajwani has become one of the richest men in the world.
Hussain Sajwani is a native of Sharjah. His father was a businessman who sold watches and pens at his own shop. Sajwani’s began working with his father at his shop at a young age and learned the basics of business. Through hard work he eventually earned a government scholarship. He would attend college in the US and go on to earn a degree in Economics and Engineering from the University of Washington.
Sajwani’s career began in the early 1980’s when he worked as a contract manager for GASCO. Years later he worked in the gas industry. It was just a short time later in 1982 when he started DAMAC Properties. DAMAC skyrocket Sajwani’s career. He would go on to be a part of many successful companies including ZDICO Invets, an investment company. He also served as a board member of the US and Emirates Takaful Company and Majan University College in New York. His company DAMAC has played a major role in some huge real estate projects. They are responsible for a golf course that had input from legendTiger Woods and is also managed by current US President Donald Trump’s organization. The company has developed more than 20,000 apartments and has nearly 50,000 units under development.
DAMAC Owner Hussain Sajwani has been recognized for his many contributions. In 2017 he was recognized as CEO of the Year at the Middle East Awards. In 2018 he was recognized at the Arabian Business Real Estate Awards. He has been recognized as a leader and innovator in his field. Today Sajwani is married and lives in Dubai with his wife and children.
