Michael Lacey is an Accomplished Mathematician

It was in 2000 that Michael Lacey joined Amadeus. He has managed their finance department since then. He looks after the routine functions to ensure that fund transactions flow smoothly. Besides, he is also looking after their financial reporting, besides audit, and taxation along with quoted exits.

His background in financial as well as IT management has helped him to work in a wide range of companies. These include technology businesses too. Michael Lacey has done his chartered accountancy from Grant Thornton. Post this; he has moved to the media industry. He had taken up positions at Thomson Corporation, besides MTV as well as Virgin Interactive.

He is highly respected as a mathematician. He received his doctorate from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. This was in 1987. He was under the direction of Walter Philipp in the University. The topic of his thesis was the probability in Banach spaces.

His other achievements include solving a complex issue regarding the empirical characteristic function with regard to the iterated logarithm law. Next, Michael Lacey has done groundbreaking work on the ergodic theory, besides probability as well as harmonic analysis.

Michael Lacey completed his Ph.D. and joined the Louisiana State University. Then he moved on to the Chapel Hill campus that is located in the University of North Carolina. Over here, Lacey along with Walter Philipp got a lot of attention as they were able to present proof with regard to the theorem that is based on an almost sure central limit. Michael Lacey was working with the Indiana University from 1989 to 1996. During this time, he earned the National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship.

And while Michael Lacey was on this fellowship, he studied all about the bilinear Hilbert transform. During this time, that transform was being questioned by many, including Alberto Calderon. In 1996, both Michael Lacey along with Christoph Thiele managed to win the Salem Prize as they could solve this transform.

Since 1996, Michael Lacey has been a professor of mathematics at the Georgia Institute of Technology. In 2004 he received the Guggenheim Fellowship. This was for the joint work that he did along with Xiaochun Li. In 2012, Michael Lacey became a fellow of the American Mathematical Society. He has done lots of important research in the field of mathematics. He has got a lot of support from The National Science Foundation for it. There are several other mathematical research institutes that have supported him. These include the Simmons Foundation, the Fulbright Foundation and much more. He has published several papers on various important issues in science as well as mathematics.

Dr. Michael Lacey has researched as well as written on several topics. These include the Kao Problem, besides the Carleson’s Theorem, as well as Ergodic Theory. Other topics include the bilinear Hilbert transform, besides the Bilinear Littlewood Paley Square Functions, as well as the Carleson–Hunt Theorem. He has also written on dynamical systems, besides central limit theorems, as well as Levy processes along with Laws of the iterated logarithm.

All through his career, Michael Lacey has been able to demonstrate a deep understanding of complex mathematical theorems.
